Company Overview
Hawaii Bio-Waste Systems Inc. (HBW) is in the business of transportation, treatment and disposal of all streams of medical waste generated by medical, dental, veterinary laboratory and pharmaceutical facilities. These facilities include all private as well as federal, state, county and city facilities. HBW provides innovative, economical and environmentally sound solutions for any disposal problem. We also provide medical waste consulting and management for both private and public sector clients.
Company Background
Hawaii Bio-Waste Systems Inc. was founded in 1991. The company was originally formed in response to the Medical Waste Tracking Act of 1988 and to help local healthcare practitioners comply with Hawaii Administrative Rules, Title 11, Chapter 104, which governs medical waste disposal. It has grown from a small company with a few dozen clients to where it now services over 1200 clients, including all the major hospitals and laboratories in Hawaii. We can manage medical waste far more efficiently, safely and economically than our clients can on their own….all in full compliance with regulatory agencies.
Our state of the art treatment facility on Oahu was completed in 2000 and treats more regulated waste than any other company in Hawaii. The facility processes over 1000 tons of waste annually, much of it from the neighbor islands from which we ship containers weekly to Oahu.
